(More customer reviews)I collect Eva Braun photos as well as books and films about her. This "Biography" presentation is wonderful to watch. Many excellent rare photos and unique interviews, but the over all message it presents is full of errors and far-fetched speculation.
The very idea of consulting a rabbi from the Weisenthal organization or a professor from a Jewish university to comment on any aspect of Eva Braun's life or relationship with Hitler is foolish. To say she knew about and didn't care about executions or acts of cruelty in concentration camps shows their ignorance as well as displays the intent to criminalize both Eva and Hitler. I thought this was a show about her life, love and death? Many of the comments made about Eva, Geli and others have been proven fictitious long ago. It seems that 70 years distance from the war has not been long enough to stop the anti-Hitler mis-information and present documented and proven facts. Hearsay, gossip and rumour should be omitted from all History Channel and Biography channel presentations. If they can't prove a comment LEAVE IT OUT. I suppose we will never see a fair and balanced presentation if it calls into question the actions of the U.S. government or its allies. Stating that Germany attacked and overran France without stating that France declared war on Germany and that Germany waited months before taking action is bad reporting. Reporting the Germany attacked Poland without mentioning the Russia also attacked at nearly the same time from the other direction (though they never faced war crimes accusations) is manipulation of the facts.
I watch documentaries on cable in order to learn about history, people and events. Many times I find myself disgusted at the false or misleading lesson those not inclined to check the facts are subjected to.
AS far as this episode of Bioography; Watch it but ignore the script. Want to know about Eva; Read the book by Nerin Gun. He researched and interviewed as well as documenting his sources.
