The editorial is wrong, this has 20 episodes (2 DVDs) and is put together better than the $1 DVDs that Digiview released. Since this title is out of print, it is very unlikely that the final 20 episodes will be released on a second volume (though I am hoping they will release it once times are better). Hopefully this will happen, as Digiview did release the complete series of U.B.O.S. earlier this year (quite unexpected). With the lead voice of Scott McNeil as Nick Logan, this is a very good series to own.

My son fell into this mental Illness suddenly. It helped us, his family, while he was in the hospital after his first psychotic break. It also helped him to accept he was indeed Schizophrenic and had to be faithful about taking his medications to prevent going back into the hospital.

...Amazon came through with prompt delivery and nice packaging. My son loves Ben 10, so he was extremely excited to find this gift waiting for him after school. I too love this show. It is one of the rare animated shows that has nice scripts, great voice talents, and splendid animation. My son and I also like that the series progresses with characters aging and developing their skills.

Charmed - The Complete Seventh Season (2004) Review

Charmed - The Complete Seventh Season (2004)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Season 7 is a very interesting year for the world of Charmed. When it is bad, it is REALLY bad but when it is good, it is REALLY good. It really is a hit or miss situation.
The best episodes would have to be the ones near the end of the season but there are also some spread out through the season. Some of the best: Something Wicca This Way Goes, Witchness Protection, Charmed Noir, The Seven Year Witch, Srcy Hard and Death Becomes Them.
The worst episodes: A Call To Arms, The Bare Witch Project, and Once In A Blue Moon.
The Complete Rundown:
1. A Call To Arms - When Piper and Leo attend a Hindu wedding, they become possessed by Hindu gods. This episode is alright, but doesn't seem strong enough to be a season opener.
2. The Bare Witch Project - A student at magic school accidently conjures Lady Godiva, and the sisters must help return her to her time so she can finish her ride. Slightly better than the premiere but still doesn't live up to "Classic Charmed"
3. Cheaper By The Coven - Chris' wiccaning is upon us and the sister summon Grams for help, but when a spell goes awry, the sisters revert to their teenage selves. Fun episode that brings back favorites like Grams, Patty and Victor.
4. Charrrmed! - A pirate comes to town searching for the fountain of youth. Most people did not like this episode, but I did find it entertaining. Depends on your tastes.
5. Styx Feet Under - The Angel of Death is back after Paige casts a spell that blocks all death. Very well done episode, really good acting here.
6. Once In A Blue Moon - The sisters are transformed into beasts. Bad episode. Really boring.
7. Someone To Witch Over Me - Guardian Angels are being captured. Meanwhile Leo goes on a vision quest. Fans of Drew Fuller will enjoy this because Chris makes an appearance.
8. Charmed Noir - Paige and Angent Brody are trapped in a 40's Noir book. One of the best episodes of the season. Smart, fun and true to the time period.
9. There's Something About Leo - The sisters find out Leo is an avatar and the consequences are dire when Kyle Brody finds out. Interesting episode.
10. Witchness Protection - The Seer is under attack and the sisters reluctantly help her. One of my favorites, Charisma Carpenter is great as the Seer and she finally gets more screen time than in Cheaper By The Coven and Styx Feet Under.
11. Ordinary Witches - Paige takes Kyle back to the past to find out how his parents died. Interesting episode, but more leading up to the next episode/s.
12. Extreme Makeover: World Edition - The sisters are about ready to makeover the world, when Kyle casts a paranoia spell on them. Good episode. Serves as a part one to Charmageddon.
13. Charmageddon - Leo forms an unlikely alliance with Zankou so he can try to reverse the change. Good episode, conclusion to Extreme Makeover: World Edition.
14. Carpe Demon - Drake, an ex-demon, applies for a teaching position at magic school and ends up taking Phoebe on a wild ride around San Francisco as Robin Hood.
15. Show Ghouls - Phoebe and Drake are transported back to 1899, to help find out what happened at a cabaret. Fun episode.
16. The Seven Year Witch - Piper ends up in a coma, Leo loses his memory and tries to find his way back to his family and Cole returns to restore Phoebe's faith in love. GREAT episode, and also features the final appearance of Cole.
17. Scry Hard - Wyatt shrinks Piper and Leo into a dollhouse. Good episode, exciting.
18. Little Box Of Horrors - The sisters must find Pandora's box before someone unleashes the evil inside. Good episode but not as exciting as some episodes before it.
19. Freaky Phoebe - An ugly sorceress switches bodies with Phoebe. Alright episode.
20. Imaginary Fiends - Wyatt's imaginary friend is a demon who is trying to turn him evil. Good episode, also sees the return of Adult Wyatt.
21. Death Becomes Them - Dead innocents from the sisters' past comes back to haunt them, thanks to Zankou. Great episode. Dramatic, emotional and all around good. Also serves as a part 1 to Something Wicca This Way Goes.
22. Something Wicca This Way Goes - The girls finally go after Zankou when he gains control of the Nexus. Great episode. Was originally intended to be both a season finale and a series finale. Conclusion to Death Becomes Them.
As you can see, there are many more good episodes here than bad. There are just as many clunkers here than with any other season, perhaps even less than usual. With the show still up in the air, the finale was intended to be a series finale if necessary, but thankfully we get one final season.
I recommend this to all fans of the show, especially seeing as we are now in the home stretch. 7 down, 1 to go! Enjoy it while it lasts!

The Power of Three continues to work in mysterious ways as the sisters adapt to the arrival of baby Chris – and the added responsibility of having two enchanted children underfoot.Could this be a divine signal for Piper and Leo to stop quibbling and start parenting?Meanwhile, Paige continues her quest for the perfect man (or even a couple of imperfect ones) while Phoebe desperately searches for the father of her future daughter.Given the pageant of witches, warlocks and sexy wardrobe gracing the manor in the coming year, finding time to juggle multiple romances while fighting the forces of darkness will become increasingly challenging.

I just got this one in the mail yesterday, and popped it into the player, and WOW! I own several of the other WavesDVD series videos, and they are all beautiful, scenic, and relaxing, but this new Blue-ray version just gives it a whole new light. You can see the grains of sand on the beach. It is like you could walk through the screen and into the ocean in Hawaii. I have a 65" Panasonic Onyx, and this DVD really brings Hawaii to life when I play it.
I give this 5 stars. Superb film making!

Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker (The Original Uncut Version) (2000) Review

Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker (The Original Uncut Version) (2000)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The original Batman animated series of the 90's might have been aimed towards children, but it was so well written and slick that older audiences enjoyed it as well. While I was a big fan of that original series, I'll admit I really wasn't too fond of Batman Beyond (although the idea behind it intrigued me). I had originally seen the original cut version of "Return of the Joker", and I somewhat liked it, but when I heard about the uncut version finally getting released, something told me I had to see it. I will tell you that in every way, shape, and form, this uncut version tops the cut one. The uncut version clears up some holes from the cut one that were created so the more "violent and mature themed" scenes could be cut out, plus we get to really see just what kind of lunatic the Joker is, I mean who would do that to a kid? Seeing that image of what happens to Robin will make you understand why Warner Bros. cut out the scene. Not to mention we also get to see how the Joker really met his demise, and why Bruce Wayne walks with a cane. Kevin Conroy is great as always as Bruce, while Will Friedle is pretty good as Terry McGinnis, but the film belongs to Mark Hamill, who is always fantastic but here much more sadistic, as the Joker. Other voice talents include Dean Stockwell, Melissa Joan Hart, Angie Harmon, Michael Rosenbaum, and good 'ol Henry Rollins as one of the Joker's henchman (we also get to see what really happens to him too). All in all, if your older but love anything Batman, steer clear of the cut version and get this fantastic uncut edition, but if your buying this for your kids or a young child (like say under 10), get the cut version because this uncut edition may be too intense for them.

I started watchin Nip/Tuck flipping through channels one night, came addicted ever since. The show definetly keeps your attention, they never focus too much on one character. There is always something different going on. If that is not enough to keep you coming back to watch it then how about two georgous doctors and beautiful women and what happens when they all come together. If you are interested in adult mauture,(yet kinky) head turning surgeries and great mysteries of "the Carver" Nip/Tuck is definetly something you will want in your collection!!

Season OneBeauty the saying goes is only skin deep. The beauty of Nip/Tuck is that it goes deeper laying bear the complexities and fragile natures often found in patients seeking cosmetic surgery. Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon portray hotshot Miami South Beach plastic surgeons who are themselves in full-blown midlife crises as they confront career family and romance problems. The series' cutting-edge stories range from funny to suspenseful to uncommonly powerful. The surgeries are graphically bold. The sexuality is rampant. Presented here in 13 first-season episodes on 5 discs and featuring compelling extras the highly praised Nip/Tuck is a prescription for entertainment unlike anything you've ever seen.Season TwoDylan Walsh and Julian McMahon return as the elite plastic surgery team of McNamara/Troy whose skill at giving others perfect bodies contrasts with the doctors' imperfect personal lives. From love (Troy falls for a self-assured blind woman) to lust (McNamara dates a porn star) from painful revelations (a secret from the past shatters the practice) to powerful moments (conjoined adults seek the doctors' help) to astonishing truths (a New Age "life coach" hides what ultimately can't be hidden) this second-season operation is a total success. This is in the PAL format but all you have to do is go to Walmart or right here on Amazon and get the Philips brand DVD player in the white box with carrying handle for around $35.00 which you can set to "region 0" in the menu. Once you've done this you can watch any DVD from around the world. This is the best and funniest of the Nick toons from the 90's. Very twisted!!

Gilmore Girls: The Complete Second Season (Digipack) (2001) Review

Gilmore Girls: The Complete Second Season (Digipack) (2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The second season of "Gilmore Girls" is when a lot of things did not happen to Lorelai Gilmore. It started with Lorelai not marrying Max ("Red Light on the Wedding Night") and ended with her not marrying Christopher ("I Can't Get Started"), but Sookie got married so at least there was some progress in that area, although the duo's plan to open an inn together hits a major roadblock ("The Ins and Outs of Inns"). Of course, the most important thing that did not happen to Lorelai was that she manages to really notice Luke despite the fact he is pretty much there in front of her every morning at the diner. Clearly the creators of "Gilmore Girls" remember what happened to "Moonlighting" once Dave and Maddie stopped bantering and started kissing and other things, so the agenda is to put off the inevitable for as long as possible. So even if it is obvious to everyone else in Stars Hollow (to wit, Emily), does not mean that Lorelai has a clue.
As for Rory, her junior year at Chilton has its ups and downs. and not just because of Paris. The ups would be "The Road Trip to Harvard" and making her society debut ("Presenting Lorelai Gilmore"), while the downside would be the rift between her and her grandfather because of Dean ("Sadie, Sadie") and the problems with Dean because of Jess ("There's the Rub" and "A-Tisket, A-Tasket"). If anything, the common denominator is to make sure that none of the Gilmore women are happy, which means Rory is mad at Lorelai for blaming Jess for the accident ("Help Wanted," Lorelai is mad at Emily for arranging their going to a spa together ("There's the Rub") and Emily is mad at Richard for quitting his job without consulting here ("The Bracebridge Dinner"). What? You thought Emily was going to be mad at Rory? Are you kidding? Have you not been watching this show?
For me the fascinating part is watching the yang of Lorelai and Emily's relationship compared to the yin of the Lorelai and Rory dynamic. For me some of the most memorable moments from season two are when Emily orders Richard to make up with Rory because if their granddaughter ever gets married she to know about it (Lorelai did not tell her parents about her engagement to Max) and the look on her parent's face with Lorelai gets her business school diploma ("Lorelai's Graduation Day"). But then a good rule of thumb is anytime we see a chink in Emily's armor it is a moment that will be hard to forget. I am still trying to make up my mind as to whether or not Lorelai has an even more strained relationship with her father than her mother, given his visit to her place of work ("Richard in Stars Hollow") and her visit to his new office ("Help Wanted"). I am certainly leaning in that direction, but it is still open to debate.
But overall the two emotional highpoints of the second season finding Lorelai giving and then receiving as good as she gets. The giving happens in "Teach Me Tonight" when a totally distraught Lorelai goes after Luke because of the car accident where Rory gets hurt (slightly hurt, but hurt is hurt, and there is a cast on her arm, mister), creating a serious rift in their relationship. The receiving is two episodes later in "Lorelai's Graduation Day" when Rory misses the big event and offers the most high speed combined heartfelt apology and verbal self-flagellation in television history (I agree with her, I think she had a stroke or something).
My strong affection for high-speed dialogue can be traced from "Gilmore Girls" back to "Moonlight" and beyond to "The Thing From Another World" and any movie starring Groucho Marx. Equally as strong is my enjoyment of gratuitous pop culture references, especially as manifested in "The Simpsons" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." So to have a series that combines both of these elements and provides deleted scenes on the DVD is one of those absolute joys you hear so much about (although my wife is tired of me explaining all of the references, allusions, and impromptu name dropping). Then again, while I knew from the start that Carole King was singing the show's theme song "Where You Lead" with her daughter Louis Goffin, I only recently figure out they had re-recorded the song with some of the lines changed to better fit the show (No, I do not fast forward through the title sequence; I always listen to the song).
I am also pleased to see that the "Gilmore Girls" is being seen around the world, although I have to wonder how the pop culture references translate into out cultures (I have no doubt people can speak real fast in any language). But you can see "Gilmore Girls" now from Argentina (the current season is on the Warner Channel Thursdays at 21:00 with past seasons shown weekdays at 11:30 and 16:30) to the United Kingdom (Sundays at 18:00 on Nickeloden U.K.). It is nice to think that Stars Hollow's madonna and child have gone international.

I bought Freaknik because I am a big Adult Swim fan, so I was hoping it was similar to Venture Bros., Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, ATHF, Brak Show, Moral Oral, etc. It was as I expected, but quite racy. Derogatory words for women and African-Americans are used often, but everything else was bleeped out. The soundtrack was exceptional, mimicking rap precisely at the right scenes in the film. I recommend this for adults with a good sense of humor who do not get offended easily.

At the age of 34, I'm still a sucker for those Bugs-Bunny like cartoons, packed with wit clearly aimed at the adults watching with the children. Most of this tape is just plain funny (a version of the night before Christmas includes all the Animaniacs characters), and includes great music, but there is a kicker of a holiday lesson, wonderfully told, in "A Gift of Gold". Do not buy this tape if you think belching is unacceptable. The real judge? My nephews John and Isaac, who loved it.

Animaniacs, Vol. 1 (1993) Review

Animaniacs, Vol. 1 (1993)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A lot of people remember "Animaniacs," but not many people remember how popular it once was. In 1993, the year these episodes appeared on the Fox network, "Animaniacs" was the most popular cartoon on that network, and one of the most-watched cartoons on TV. It had a cult following like few other shows of its time; alt.tv.animaniacs was one of the most densely-populated groups on usenet. Adult and college-age viewers loved "Animaniacs" as much as, if not more than, the little kids; the obscure cultural references, double entendres, and good solid cartoon violence made it even more fun for an older audience.
Well, that was 1993, and over a decade later, how does this show hold up? Very, very well. All the things that made it so popular in 1993 -- the great lines, the imaginative visuals, the music (with the late Richard Stone leading a full orchestra, no computer-generated music allowed), the voices, the cultural references, the violence -- still work today. The anthology format, with each episode consisting of a mix of different characters and segments, gives the show a richness and variety that most cartoon shows don't have. And the characters are still as funny as they were in 1993: the Marx-Brothers-inspired Yakko, Wakko and Dot; elderly, amoral cartoon star Slappy Squirrel; Chicken Boo, the giant chicken forever passing for a human; and world-domination-seeking lab mice Pinky and the Brain (whose spinoff series is also available on DVD, separately).
The first DVD set contains the first 25 episodes of the series, out of a total of 99; if it sells well, three more volumes will be released. It includes some of the show's very best segments, like the encounters with Paul Rugg's Jerry Lewis parody "Mr. Director"; or Slappy trying to prove to her nephew that "nobody ever dies in cartoons" in the short "Bumbie's Mom"; or the elaborate mini-musical "Les Miseranimals"; or the Warner Brothers (and the Warner sister) helping Michelangelo "paint naked people all over a church." Plus the famous song sequence with all (or most) of the nations of the world set to the "Mexican Hat Dance."

My grandosn loves Scooby-Doo, and this disk is no exception. In fact, he took it home with him. It has the same high quality of all Scooby cartoons, and the monsters are just scarey enough to be fun and not really scare the child. We buy all the Scooby we can for the sense of adventure and because the monsters are always proved to be nothing to be afraid of.
