(More customer reviews)Rachel Ashwell had a show called "Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic" on Style Network a few years back. Her company has released three DVDs from that series: (1) Treasures (2) Gifts, Sentiments & Romance and (3) Flowers, Petals & Gardens.
Each DVD contain 3 episodes so if you buy all three DVDs you will own 9 episodes from the original series. There are many more episodes yet to be released, depending on how well these three initial DVDs sell they'll consider putting out more DVDs.
Here is what you get on this DVD:
1- Gifts
2- Sentiments
3- Romance
In the GIFTS episode Rachel shows a dance troop where to find quality vintage clothing and how to adapt them to today's styles. Working within her Shabby Chic palette of pastels and creams she transforms vintage clothing and accessories into costumes and everyday wear.
In the SENTIMENTS episode Rachel creates one-of-a-kind cards to express sentiment. She shares her family ritual of placing little notes and secret messages in her children's lunch bags. Rachel shops the flea market looking for forget-me-not cups and time-worn plaques with meaningful sayings to place around her home. And finally, she visits a public meditation garden, recommending it as a place to reflect and enjoy nature's beauty.
In the ROMANCE episode Rachel and Mark visit the Rose Bowl flea market searching for those romantic elements that make a room beautiful. She buys metal sap buckets and turns them into colorful vases for hydrangeas. In a craft segment Rachel demonstrates how to make a wreath out of vintage pastel Christmas ornaments and a styrofoam heart covered with pink carnations. She also explains how to dye vintage lace and bedding.

A must for my friend's wedding gift. The first one went over great in a gift basket earlier this month! It seems to be the perfect gift for either hard to shop for geeks or anybody who needs their mind expanded! So many great things to think about. This was one of the best episodes of The Universe. (I will have one when people start living on the moon or some other planet).
This is the show that opened the conversation of "Sex on Planet Earth" and beyond as a good thing, of its nature, (instead of degrading it). Sex in Space got me and millions of people thinking about Earth's place in a much bigger universe ... and I will go anywhere in a 2Suit (yes it even has Vanna Bonta flying in zero gravity -- she brought the stars and heavens right to my heart, made the cosmos real).


The CGI is awesome. The DVD is BluRay and the HD is great. This episode has the right mix of science and humanity.

The Jacksons: America's First Family of Music, Vol. 1 (2004) Review

(More customer reviews)If you don't mind the 30 minutes of this video, then it's worth buying it. Yes, it is also true, that I do wish it were longer, but I am a true Jackson fan (always have and will be!). I love to share the DVD with others who can't afford it. I loan it out to my friends and family. This is a collectors item. Marlon did a great job with the details of his musical family. Quite funny in the end when they did a few out takes before the credits rolled, I laughed knowing that the brothers have a great sense of humor. Still a very personal and informative short documentary. To me, this was not disappointing at all.
