(More customer reviews)Season 6 is definately not the average Charmed fans' favorite season but it is definately not the worst of the 8. This season was pretty much up and down, with most of the bad episodes early in the season. There are however, some interesting plot points in this season. With the addition of Chris in the season 5 finale, we get to learn what he is really up to and if he is indeed someone looking out for the sisters or a new big bad.
The breakdown:
1 and 2. Valhalley Of The Dolls Parts 1 and 2 - With Leo missing, the sisters turn into Valkyries in order to save him.
3. Forget Me...Not - Wyatt conjures a dragon and it is loose in the city. The Cleaners also want to erase Wyatt from everyone's memory.
4. The Power Of Three Blondes - 3 blonde sisters want the Charmed One's identies. Pretty fun episode.
5. Love's A Witch - Paige stumbles upon a feud between two magical families and even finds love at the same time.
6. My Three Witches - Chris tries to teach the sisters a lesson.
7. Soul Survivor - Paige tries to save her boss's soul, even at the risk of losing her own.
8. Sword And The City - Piper pulls Excalibur out of its stone and consequences arise.
9. Little Monsters - The sisters become foster parents for a half demon baby, without Chris' approval.
10. Chris-Crossed - Bianca, a assassin from the future, arrives to try to take Chris' powers.
11. Witchstock - Paige is taken back in time where she encounters Grams, who was a hippie.
12. Prince Charmed - Phoebe and Paige conjure "Mr. Right" for Piper as a birthday present.
13. Used Karma - Phoebe is possessed by the spirit of Mata Hari.
14. The Legend Of Sleepy Halliwell - The sisters discover Magic School and must save it from the Headless Horseman.
15. I Dream Of Phoebe - Phoebe frees a genie from a bottle and becomes one herself.
16. The Courtship Of Wyatt's Father - Piper and Leo are trapped in the ghostly plane, with a darklighter on their tail.
17. Hyde School Reunion - Phoebe reverts back to her troublesome teenage self, as her high school reunion approaches.
18. Spin City - Piper is cocooned by the spider demon and Paige, Phoebe and Leo need to save her.
19. Crimes And Witch Demeanors - Darryl is on trial for murder and it is up to the sisters to save him.
20. A Wrong Day's Journey Into Right - Paige conjures up her own Mr. Right for personal pleasure but unbeknownst to her, releases his evil twin, Mr. Wrong.
21. Witch Wars - The sisters are on a demonic reality show, with them as the prey.
22 and 23. It's A Bad Bad Bad Bad World Parts 1 and 2 - Phoebe and Paige are transported to a parallel world where evil dominates everything.

The first three seasons are about three young women Prue Halliwell(Shannen Doherty), Piper Halliwell(Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe Halliwell(Alyssa Milano) reunite after the death of their grandmother. Prue and Piper live together in their deceased grandmas house, While Phoebe lives in New York. phoebe moves back in with prue and piper. Prue is upset by this because she dislikes Phoebe for over past grudges. Prue divorce her husband while Piper discovers that her boyfriend wants to kill her and her sisters so he can acquire their witch powers. Phoebe expolores the house finds the attic and its locked. the door opens by it self allowing phoebe to go in. Phoebe finds a lot of stuff including a chest containing a book. Titled The Book Of Shadows. The book has an incantion and Phoebe reads it. The spell makes The three sisters witches and she tells piper and prue who dont believe her at all. later on phoebe discovers that she can get premonitions which she uses to save a boy who almost get hits by a car in return phoebe ends up in the hospital. Piper finds that she has the power to freeze and she accidently freezes her boss before he tastes a dish that she made and she adds a sauce that she forgot to put on the dish. Prue finds out about the power of Telekinesis with the help of Phoebe. Throughout season one the three battle demons who disrupts their life. at the end prues ex and childhood friend andy tredau dies and prue becomes depressed which is seen throughout the begginning episodes in season 2. in season 2 Prue overcomes her depression when a demon almost erases all the good that they done. The trio continues doing more good in return Prue acquires a new power known as Astral Projection. Phoebe and Piper get a little bit jealous then towards the end of season 2 Phoebe meets a guy she falls in love with who is a demon known as Balthzar. In season three Phoebe gets the power of levitation. prue gets turned into a dog in the third episode to the last of the season. Then piper gets the power to blow up things while fighting with her boyfriend who is an angel and pretended to be her handyman Leo Wyatt(Brian Krause). Then the last episode of season three is a major tear jerker!!! The last episode starts off with the sister saving s doctor or running from a demon who is the source of all evil's henchman Shax. Shax send Prue and Piper away from the doctor who he goes to kill, instead he sends Prue through a wall and Piper follows prue and she gets sent throgh another wall. Phoebe attacks with a spell which injures shax and he leaves. Phoebe sees her sister bleeding bad. She calls Leo and he comes and luckily heals them. To make a long story short and make a spoiler alert, all lot of chaos happens and leaves the power of three destroyed. season 4 kicks in with a new girl in town who turns out to be Prue, Piper and Phoebe's half sister. Her name is Paige Matthews(Rose Mcgowan. Struggles and hardships are well seen in the season and Paige gradually gets accepted into the Halliwell family after some time of anger at the Father of Prue, Piper and Phoebe Victor for not telling them that they had another sister. Charmed is an excellent show astarts and anybody who starts watching it, I recomend that you start with season 1 to get the full experience. There are eight seasons total jampacked full of comedy, drama and kick ass action

Charmed - The Complete Series (1998) Review

(More customer reviews)I've enjoyed this series for years now. I already own the box sets but I am a big enough fan to upgrade. I noticed from enlarged photos on another website that this version in addition to being smaller than the Deluxe Limited version appears to use cardboard sleeves to protect the discs. The Deluxe appears, at least in the photos to use snap on holders which I believe protect the discs from scratches better than card board. I suppose it's all in how you handle them though.
UPDATE 11/12/08- The Limited Deluxe Edition is now out of print. That is the other larger version with trays. FYI...I wanted to let you all know that someone posted pictures here of the Larger Deluxe edition. Specifically, the last three pictures are of that edition. If you order here, you will recieve the smaller (two discs high) version held onto the pages with simple slits.
UPDATE 11/19/2008- RE: Manufacturing issues
My underrstanding is that the folks at CBS DVD are aware and looking into the issues surrounding both sets.
My additional advice would be not to avoid your purchase, but rather purchase from Amazon or another trusted source who will work with you for your particular resolution if you are unlucky, as I and others unfortunately were. We are Charmed Fans and are very loyal to our favorite series. Doing without this set is just not an option for some of us, we've waited years watching special releases in various other countries. I purchased both sets and Amazon was extremely helpful at reaching a result that I could be happy with, while still allowing me the joy of owning the set(s) I had looked forward to for so long. Thank you Amazon...glad someone is looking out for the customer!

Charmed - The Complete Seventh Season (2004) Review

(More customer reviews)Season 7 is a very interesting year for the world of Charmed. When it is bad, it is REALLY bad but when it is good, it is REALLY good. It really is a hit or miss situation.
The best episodes would have to be the ones near the end of the season but there are also some spread out through the season. Some of the best: Something Wicca This Way Goes, Witchness Protection, Charmed Noir, The Seven Year Witch, Srcy Hard and Death Becomes Them.
The worst episodes: A Call To Arms, The Bare Witch Project, and Once In A Blue Moon.
The Complete Rundown:
1. A Call To Arms - When Piper and Leo attend a Hindu wedding, they become possessed by Hindu gods. This episode is alright, but doesn't seem strong enough to be a season opener.
2. The Bare Witch Project - A student at magic school accidently conjures Lady Godiva, and the sisters must help return her to her time so she can finish her ride. Slightly better than the premiere but still doesn't live up to "Classic Charmed"
3. Cheaper By The Coven - Chris' wiccaning is upon us and the sister summon Grams for help, but when a spell goes awry, the sisters revert to their teenage selves. Fun episode that brings back favorites like Grams, Patty and Victor.
4. Charrrmed! - A pirate comes to town searching for the fountain of youth. Most people did not like this episode, but I did find it entertaining. Depends on your tastes.
5. Styx Feet Under - The Angel of Death is back after Paige casts a spell that blocks all death. Very well done episode, really good acting here.
6. Once In A Blue Moon - The sisters are transformed into beasts. Bad episode. Really boring.
7. Someone To Witch Over Me - Guardian Angels are being captured. Meanwhile Leo goes on a vision quest. Fans of Drew Fuller will enjoy this because Chris makes an appearance.
8. Charmed Noir - Paige and Angent Brody are trapped in a 40's Noir book. One of the best episodes of the season. Smart, fun and true to the time period.
9. There's Something About Leo - The sisters find out Leo is an avatar and the consequences are dire when Kyle Brody finds out. Interesting episode.
10. Witchness Protection - The Seer is under attack and the sisters reluctantly help her. One of my favorites, Charisma Carpenter is great as the Seer and she finally gets more screen time than in Cheaper By The Coven and Styx Feet Under.
11. Ordinary Witches - Paige takes Kyle back to the past to find out how his parents died. Interesting episode, but more leading up to the next episode/s.
12. Extreme Makeover: World Edition - The sisters are about ready to makeover the world, when Kyle casts a paranoia spell on them. Good episode. Serves as a part one to Charmageddon.
13. Charmageddon - Leo forms an unlikely alliance with Zankou so he can try to reverse the change. Good episode, conclusion to Extreme Makeover: World Edition.
14. Carpe Demon - Drake, an ex-demon, applies for a teaching position at magic school and ends up taking Phoebe on a wild ride around San Francisco as Robin Hood.
15. Show Ghouls - Phoebe and Drake are transported back to 1899, to help find out what happened at a cabaret. Fun episode.
16. The Seven Year Witch - Piper ends up in a coma, Leo loses his memory and tries to find his way back to his family and Cole returns to restore Phoebe's faith in love. GREAT episode, and also features the final appearance of Cole.
17. Scry Hard - Wyatt shrinks Piper and Leo into a dollhouse. Good episode, exciting.
18. Little Box Of Horrors - The sisters must find Pandora's box before someone unleashes the evil inside. Good episode but not as exciting as some episodes before it.
19. Freaky Phoebe - An ugly sorceress switches bodies with Phoebe. Alright episode.
20. Imaginary Fiends - Wyatt's imaginary friend is a demon who is trying to turn him evil. Good episode, also sees the return of Adult Wyatt.
21. Death Becomes Them - Dead innocents from the sisters' past comes back to haunt them, thanks to Zankou. Great episode. Dramatic, emotional and all around good. Also serves as a part 1 to Something Wicca This Way Goes.
22. Something Wicca This Way Goes - The girls finally go after Zankou when he gains control of the Nexus. Great episode. Was originally intended to be both a season finale and a series finale. Conclusion to Death Becomes Them.
As you can see, there are many more good episodes here than bad. There are just as many clunkers here than with any other season, perhaps even less than usual. With the show still up in the air, the finale was intended to be a series finale if necessary, but thankfully we get one final season.
I recommend this to all fans of the show, especially seeing as we are now in the home stretch. 7 down, 1 to go! Enjoy it while it lasts!

(More customer reviews)In Charmed Season 4 we mourn the departure of eldest sister, Prue Halliwell who, unbeknownst to us, until the beginning of this season is killed by a demon named Shaques (sp?). In light of this, the power of three is reinstated by their learning of a half sister on their mothers side named Paige Matthews.
This is by far one of the most suspensful and entertaining seasons as we watch Phoebe turn into the queen of the underworld, the charmed ones vanquish the Source and Pipers' first pregnancy. The show leaves off pretty much right where season three left off in terms of Coles dark past. The suspensful story line that follows traditional Chinese and Norse mythology in which a god killed the 'source' of all evil only to become it was one we had seen happening for more than a season. Now thats good story writing!
Favorite quote: Paige to Cole: "You were a demon AND a lawyer?? Insert joke here!"
Favorite Episode: "We're Off to see the Wizard"
1. Charmed Again-
Mourning the death of Prue, Piper and Phoebe must now come to grips with the loss of their oldest sister, and the loss of the Power of Three. However, The Source discovers an unknown sister - the daughter of Patty and her whitelighter Sam, who had been kept hidden, Paige, the now-youngest Halliwell can restore the Power of Three and reunite the sisters' strength as witches.
2. Hell Hath No Fury
Paige takes the Book of Shadows into her work to cast spells which help her co-workers. Meanwhile, Piper, who is filled with anger over the death of Prue and the recent actions of Paige, is possessed by a member of a supernatural band of vigilantes known as the Furies.
3. Enter The Demon
While making a potion, Paige accidentally switches bodies with Phoebe. Meanwhile, when an apprentice ninja kills his master, the sisters must find a way to vanquish him, while learning to control their switched powers.
4. Size Matters
Piper, Phoebe and Paige are shrunk to a height of five inches when they walk into a trap set by a demon named Gamil.
5. A Knight To Remember
Paige accidentally summons a medieval knight, who believes Paige is the love of his life. However, the knight is under the influence of an evil sorceress.
6. Brain Drain
The Source sends Piper into a deep coma, where she perceives an alternate reality. Phoebe and Paige must find a way to return her to reality and save her from giving up her powers while she is delusional.
7. Black As Cole
Cole must face his true demonic nature when he is faced with another demon who is mistaken as the murderer of local witches who belong to the same coven. Meanwhile, Cole proposes to Phoebe, and Piper and Leo consider their future involving children.
8, Muse To My Ears
The Halliwell sisters must find a way to release Muses which have been abducted by a warlock who is attempting to build an evil faction in the absence of the Source.
9. A Paige From The Past
With Leo as her guide, Paige goes back in time to her teen years, in an attempt to resolve her feelings about the accident that killed her parents. Meanwhile, Piper must prevent ghosts, who have inhabited Phoebe's and Cole's bodies, from fulfilling their mission.
10. Trial By Magic
While Phoebe performs jury duty in a murder case, she is hit with a premonition about the real killer, and must convince the rest of the jury that the defendant is not guilty without exposing magic. Meanwhile, Piper, Paige and Leo try help Phoebe find the real murderer, but they stumble upon a gang of demons involved and they must solve the crime and keep Paige's friend out of danger before Phoebe gets thrown off the jury.
11. Lost And Bound
Wanting to protect a ten-year-old orphaned boy who is a firestarter, Piper and Leo try to hunt down the demon before he can deliver the kid to the Source. Meanwhile, Phoebe is given Grams' wedding ring by Cole, but to their surprise the ring has been cursed to transform the wearer into a traditional 1950's suburban housewife.
12. Charmed And Dangerous
The Source breaks an age-old agreement between good and evil by stealing The Hollow, an ancient vapor which he uses to absorb Piper & Paige's powers. Meanwhile, Phoebe must allow Cole to help them, despite her having a premonition involving Cole sacrificing his life to save her from evil, but there may be more to the premonition that Phoebe just can't see.
13. The Three Faces Of Phoebe
Phoebe develops a case of cold feet over marrying Cole and casts a spell which brings a young innocent Phoebe and an old cynical Phoebe to the Manor to help her make a decision. Meanwhile, while Cole is horrified to find that the Source is now taking over his entire being, the Source's chief rival, who believes the Source is dead, is convinced by the Seer to kill the Charmed Ones in order to earn the allegiance of the entire underworld.
14. Marry Go Round
As Phoebe prepares for her wedding day, she is completely unaware that the Source has taken over Cole's body, a plot that will likely ruin the big event. Meanwhile, when the Seer tells the Source that if he can marry Phoebe in the "dark way", it will insure that their future son will be the most powerful, evil being ever.
15. The Fifth Haliwell
Amongst newlyweds, Phoebe & Cole and already-married, Leo & Piper, Paige begins like a fifth-wheel but she continues her suspicions about Cole. Meanwhile, the Source plots to impregnate Phoebe with his evil spawn.
16. Saving Private Leo
When two ghosts from Leo's past return to seek revenge, Leo faces his demons by submitting, causing Piper's life to be threatened,leaving Paige to deal with the situation. Meanwhile, Cole tries to convince Phoebe they need a home of their own.
17. Bite Me
A vampire queen tries to dethrone Cole as ruler of the Underworld and attempts to turn Paige against her sisters. Meanwhile, Phoebe begins to feel under the weather.
18. We're Off To See THe Wizard
Phoebe tells Piper and Paige that she is pregnant, and that Cole is the father. Meanwhile, Piper and Paige team up with a wizard to stop the coronation of the new Source, unaware that it is Cole and Phoebe is soon to be his Queen of the Underworld.
19. Long Live The Queen
Phoebe accepts her new role in Cole's life, but she still sets out to save an innocent after she has a premonition and even seeks her sisters' help in protecting the man. Meanwhile, Piper's heart doesn't seem to be in it as she prepares to defend her family against any new threats from the underworld.
20. Womb Raider
The Seer plans to steal Phoebe's unborn baby so she can raise the child to become the next Source and prevent the throne from passing on to another demon. Meanwhile, the baby begins to take over control of Phoebe's body, which proves dangerous to Paige.
21. Witch Way Now?
When the Angel of Destiny offers the sisters a chance to relinquish their powers and lead normal lives as a reward for vanquishing the Source of All Evil, their decision is put on the back burner. The sisters try to avoid an FBI agent who has them under surveillance, while also dealing with Cole's calls for help, who is trapped in another realm, holding onto his love for Phoebe. Plus, Piper remarkably finds out that she is pregnant.

(More customer reviews)Season 5 is a very interesting season to review. Many people have mixed feelings about it. Some say its the best and some say it is the downfall of Charmed. I somewhat agree with both sides, as my opinion is the first half is great up unitl the point where they vanquish Cole and shift into baby mode. Although some of the baby episodes are good, the show definately changed after the birth of Wyatt. This season was pretty light hearted with many baby-centric episodes but this season does have its dark points. Highlights include: A Witch's Tail, Sam I Am, Centennial Charmed, The Day The Magic Died, and Oh My Goddess.
Episodes:
1. A Witch's Tail Part 1 - The sisters help Mylie (Jamie Pressly), a mermaid, with a deal she made with the sea-hag.
2. A Witch's Tail Part 2 - Phoebe becomes a mermaid and Paige and Piper must convince her to return home.
3. Happily Ever After - A witch uses the power of fairy tales to create problems for the charmed ones.
4. Siren Song - A siren is in town preying on married men.
5. Witches In Tights - the sisters are transformed into superheros in order to take out a demon.
6. The Eyes Have It - The Charmed Ones encounter a gypsy curse and aid their friend Eva to show her the way of magic.
7. Sympathy For The Demon - Barbas is back to wreck some havok on the charmed ones.
8. A Witch In Time - Phoebe must constantly save her boyfriend from dying and if she doesn't stop, she will die.
9. Sam I Am - Paige meets her father, Sam, for the first time.
10. Y Tu Mummy Tambien - Pheobe gets mummified and her sisters must rescue her.
11. The Importance Of Being Phoebe - Cole kidnaps Phoebe and sends a shapeshifter to impersonate her.
12. Centennial Charmed - Paige orbs into an alternate reality and must find a way to vanquish Cole, once and for all.
13. House Call - A witch doctor cleans the manor for all the spirits vanquished there over the years.
14. Sand Francisco Dreamin' - the girls must save a sandman.
15. The Day The Magic Died - When the whole magical community shuts down, something big is in the making.
16. Baby's First Demon - 2 Demons are after Baby Wyatt and the sisters are surprised by some of his own powers.
17. Lucky Charmed - Leprachauns are in town and being killed.
18. Cat House - Piper and Leo have marriage counseling and Phoebe and Paige relive some of the past events of the show.
19. Nymphs Just Wanna Have Fun - Paige gets turned into a nymph.
20. Sense and Sense Ability - The girls have a curse put on them with the famous "Hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil"
21. Necromancing The Stone - Grams is back and confronted by an old lover.
22. Oh My Goddess Part 1 - The Titans are released and out for vengeance against the elders.
23. Oh My Goddess Part 2 - The sisters, now greek goddesses, are seduced by their powers.
Although this season had its fair share of ups and downs, it is still worth purchasing. Many changes to the show happened in this season, making it worth the money.

Piper (Combs) and Phoebe (Milano), now with younger half-sister Paige (McGowan) up to speed with her powers, more or less, and "The Power of Three" all living under one roof at the Halliwell manor, are trying to get their respective personal lives in order. All the while, continuing to battle the worst evils that come their way. Oldest sister Piper and her husband Leo (Krause), the siblings' whitelighter guardian angel, are thrilled at the prospect of the impending birth of their child. Yet, dealing with a normal pregnancy is tough enough, but factoring in their unborn baby's use of her magical powers gives Piper cause for concern. Although adjusting to complexities of being pregnant and fighting evil, Piper has the added responsibility of looking out for her younger sisters and still running the Halliwell's successful nightclub P3. It's become a lot to handle coupled with possessing the trio's strongest power – exploding an object or demon at will in addition to the power of freezing, but Piper has proved she's more than capable of carrying the burden. While middle sister Phoebe's career is on the rise, the same can't be said of her romantic life. Recently employed as a popular gossip columnist at a local newspaper, she's gained notoriety for her work, but she's trying to finalize her divorce from Cole (McMahon), the part demon/part human who became "The Source" (the greatest of all evil) and was vanquished, only to cling to life because of his love for Phoebe. Finally over her love for Cole, she's ready to get on with her life without him, unfortunately, after resurrecting himself, he's determined to prove his love for her by trying to do good. Phoebe's martial arts skills, her ability to levitate, the power of premonitions and her skill at making potions have helped vanquish many a demon. Youngest sister Paige has gone through quite a change in the past year with learning of her true heritage, then becoming adept at utilizing her powers of orbing herself and objects at will and getting used to having a family again. Raised by adoptive parents who died while she was still in high school, Paige was used to being a loner, but now she's proved to her sisters that she's up to the task of being one-third of the Power of Three. When it comes to good old fashioned police help, Inspector Darryl Morris (Dorian Gregory) is always there when the sisters need some aide or advice. As "The Charmed Ones," the three most powerful good witches to ever exist, the Halliwell sisters defeated "The Source" but now face the existence of powerful evils still prevalent and looking to defeat them. Charmed - The Complete Third Season (2000) Review

(More customer reviews)Coming from a long time fan, season three is one of the best seasons ever. So much happens in this season, both on and off camera. Fan favorite Julian McMahon joins the Charmed cast in this season, and becomes part of one of the most long-running storylines for the series: the love affair between Phoebe and Cole. Initially a demon sent to destroy the Charmed Ones, he eventually goes rogue after falling in love with Phoebe. Off camera, something similar happened. Actor Julian McMahon began dating actress Shannen Doherty.
Speaking of Shannen, this is her final season with the Charmed show. After some creative differences with producers and cast, Shannen left the series but not before going behind the camera to direct it's season finale episode. Also to leave the series in season three is the show's creator Constance M. Burge. Fellow executive producer Brad Kern wanted to bring in a season long relationship storyline for the Phoebe character after seeing fan's reaction to season two's Piper/Leo/Dan storyline. Burge was against it as she wanted the series to go back to it's original concept of sisterly ties and exploring the character's wiccan heritage. Eventually she lost out and left the series around the time season three began taping.

My only complaint is that, as with the previous Charmed DVD releases, Paramount Studios remains to tread the "cheap" route by not offering any bonus material what-so-ever. The obvious choice would have been to release the unaired pilot on the first DVD set, which had a completely different actress play the role of Phoebe but alas none here either. If you can overlook this gross negligence, then I strongly encourage you to add this season to your collection.
